The Christ of Havana, majestic statue of 20 meters high depicting Jesus of Nazareth, rises imposingly on the hill of La Cabaña at the entrance of Havana Bay. Out of the hands of the Cuban sculptor Jilma Madera, was blessed by Pope Pius XII and inaugurated in 1958.
The sculpture reaches 51 meters above sea level, making it visible from many parts of the city. In it, the figure of Christ is standing with one hand raised as if giving his blessing to the city and the other in the chest. A statue was left empty eyes to look like it looks at everyone everywhere is observed.
From the Christ of Havana you can see a spectacular view of almost the entire city.
